Dr Veena Kumar, Professor, University of Maryland University College, USA and the chief architect of the International Engineering Educators Certification program (IIECP) was in Chitkara University to conduct the phase I workshop from 26th – 28th Feb. 35 Faculty members from Chitkara University Himachal Pradesh and Chitkara University Punjab are attending this workshop. Phase II of this certification program will be conducted in online mode from August 2018 onwards and will be spanning over six months. These faculty members will learn new pedagogical interventions to make their classrooms more effective and learner centric. After successful completion of the program, the engineering educators will be certified by IGIP, Austria, and IUCEE. Chitkara University is an active consortium member of Indo – Universal Collaboration of Engineering Education (IUCEE) and is taking part in various initiatives besides this one. The years 2017- 18 and 2018-19 have been declared as “Pedagogical Transformations” years for all our Engineering programs and we hope to involve all the engineering educators in many such initiatives.
