On 8th March 2022, We will be honouring persons of Substance for their contribution to Womanhood

International Women’s Day on 8th March every year, is a Global celebration of womanhood and the causes thereof. International Women’s Day has gained prominence and has been observed, since 1900’s – A time of great expansion and turbulence, which has witnessed a significant change and attitudinal shift in both women and societal thoughts about their equality. As a result, women have been transforming themselves to make difference in terms of thinking globally and acting glocally!!

In her statement for International Women’s Day (8 March), UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka said: “We need women’s representation that reflects all women and girls in all their diversity and abilities, and across all cultural, social, economic and political situations. This is the only way we will get real societal change that incorporates women in decision-making as equals and benefits us all.”

Instituted by the University, the award is a recognition for all Chitkara Fraternity across the nation and globe who have proved themselves in their domain areas through diligent efforts and invincible potential. The purpose is to reflect on the efforts and contributions made by Chitkarian’s across the World to create positive change in the world supporting Womanhood and talk about the changes that still need to be made. We will celebrate “Trailblazers supporting Womanhood” in different walks of life who shattered the glass ceilings, broke stereotypes, braved uncomfortable conversations and paved the way for those yet to come with gentle nudges.

We are inviting nominations from all personnel who have been and/or are associated with Chitkara University for their significant contributions made for upliftment of Women and the purpose of Womanhood. The contribution can be in the field of academics, research, industry, training, entrepreneurship, social work and/or in social media.

  • Describe the background to and context of your entry. Does the entry represent an effort to establish the cause of Womanhood or the upliftment of Women in Society?
  • Explain the nature of work you have done for above purpose. Have you launched new initiatives? How was your work related to Women?
  • Describe the impact of your work. Provide evidence of demonstrable progress or success.
  • Describe how you worked against or overcame the odds to help the women or uplift their status?

Any Chitkara Associate, Faculty, Student, Staff, or Alumni may be nominated or self-nominate.

  • If you are shortlisted, we will send you a notification email that will include your unique nomination code number.
  • The Nomination will close on 3rd March, 2022.
  • The Decision of the Jury will be final.
