Chitkara University NewGen IEDC supported Octahacks 2.0, a nationwide 30-HOUR Hackathon was organised by Chitkara University on 20-21 September 2019. More than 280+ students participated from around the universities making this event a huge success. It aimed at handling real-life problems by providing innovative solutions. The first day of the event kick-started with a small opening ceremony followed by the commencement of the hackathon.The hackathon evolved around a 30-hour long nail-biting challenge, where all the participants were required to stay on campus, overnight — hacking and building code. All of the teams kept analyzing, evaluating and coding throughout the night.The esteemed panel of judges finally announced the result of nail-biting Hackathon challenge. Student Team – Nirmaljot Singh, Madhav Pruthi, Deepak Tiwari, Ritesh Goyal, Mayank Saggar; bagged the first prize of Rs 20,000 along with up to Rs. 2.5 Lakh prototype grant from NewGen IEDC; student team – Vanshika, Rahul, Yashika Sharma took away the second prize of Rs 15,000 cash and goodies
worth Rs 1.5 Lakh; and student team – Angadh Srivastava and Shikhar Saxena were placed third with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with goodies worth Rs 1 Lakh. to keep the participants motivated, consolation prizes were given away to Top 3 all-girls teams, and Top 10 all teams.
