Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network (CURIN), Chitkara University, Punjab organized one-day event focused on “Celebrating the Integral Role of Mathematics in Engineering Education and Research” in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh on April 3rd, 2024. The event was catalyzed and supported by National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), and Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, New Delhi.
Prof. (Dr.) Archana Mantri, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab, graced the event as the Chief Guest, emphasizing that mathematics serves as the foundation for numerous research disciplines, including quantum computing, cryptography, space engineering, and image processing. The event featured a range of activities such as declamation, poster making, quizzes, and expert talks. Various research scholars presented their insights on the theme “Integral Role of Mathematics in Engineering Education and Research: Bridging Theory and Practice” through poster presentations and declamation contest. The objective was to highlight the indispensable role mathematics plays in diverse educational, scientific, and engineering domains.
Dr. Jeetender Kumar, expert Wisdom of Mind, delivered an expert talk on topics like right-brain learning, enhancing concentration, and memory power, attracting participation from over 150+ Govt. school students, faculty, and research scholars.
The event was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Kalpna Guleria, (Professor Research), and Dr. Naveen Kumar, (Associate Professor Research), CURIN, Chitkara University, Punjab. During the valedictory ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) Archana Mantri, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab and Prof. (Dr.) S.N. Panda (Pro-VC Research) honoured the winners, judges, resource persons, and participants who contributed to the success of the event.
