Every year, noted academicians from around the country are honoured with the Bharat Shiksha Ratna Award. This year, Dr. Rakesh Sindhu, Assistant Professor, Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, was also chosen, among others, for this top honour. The award is given for a distinguished teaching and professional career in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The award was given to Dr. Rakesh Sindhu on February 15th, 2016, at Deputy Speaker Hall, Constitution Club o f India, New Delhi during the National Seminar on Individual Contribution Towards Economic Growth and Social Development organized by the Global Society for Health and Educational Growth. The Seminar was chaired by H. E. Waven William, High Commissioner of the Republic of Seychelles Country, Dr. V. B. Soni, Former Diplomat, Ambessador retired from IFS, Sardar Joginder Singh, IPS (Retd), Former CBI Director (India) and Sant Krishanand, Secretary, Vishav Mitra Jan Seva Samiti, Ajmer, Rajasthan.
