Learning Mathematics through Origami @ Chitkara University

Chitkara University, Punjab in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh, organized a “Two Day workshop on Learning Mathematics through Origami” on 13th -14th March, 2021.  The workshop was conducted by a renowned origamist  Sh. V.S.S. Sastry Ji who has conducted numerous workshop’s for visualization of mathematics’ concepts throughout the country. The workshop was catalysed and supported by NCSTC, DST, New Delhi, Govt. of India. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Archana Mantri, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University Punjab, Dr. K.S. Bath, Joint Director, PSCST, Chandigarh and Dr. Ashutosh Mishra, Dean, Chitkara School of Mass Communication, Chitkara University, Punjab.
During this two day workshop Sastry Ji has illustrated various mathematical concepts through origami models which include the visualization of Pythagoras Theorem, obtuse, acute angle, quadratic equations, conceptualization of various mathematical formulas, number sets, Platonic Solids: Tetrahedron, Octahedron, Hexahedron, Dodecahedron, Icosahedron. Further the conceptualization of Arithmetic Progression, Geometric Progression, Pie Model, folding of Parabola, ellipse, Hyperbola, hyperbolic Paraboloid was also provided. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Kalpna Guleria Associate Professor, Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network, Chitkara University, Punjab, India
