Dr. Naveen Kumar is Ph.D in computer science and engineering with more than 22 years of experience in teaching and research. He completed his PhD from Chitkara University, Punjab State, INDIA. He joined Chitkara University in 2003. He also worked as a research fellow in PGIMER, Chandigarh on a DST (Department of Science & Technology, Government of India) funded project named “Closed Loop Anesthesia Delivery System”.

Presently, Dr Naveen is working as an Associate Professor in CURIN (Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network). He is actively engaged in research activities. He has filed more than 40 patents and one of them has also been published in WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). He wrote a book titled “Workshop Practice”, Abhishek Publication (ISSN 9788182472655).

He is working as Principal Investigator on a research project titled “Smart Ergonomic Portable Commode Chair” catalyzed and supported by DST-TIDE under the SEED Division. Dr. Naveen is also working as a Co-Principal Investigator in two more projects “Remote Vital Information and Surveillance System for Elderly and Disabled Persons” funded by TIDE (Technology Intervention of Disabled and Elderly) scheme of Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and “Science Technology and Innovation Hub at Chitkara University”, funded by DST.

In 2009 he was awarded with Face of the quarter award by Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology. He got teacher excellence award (“Most Collaborative”) in 2019 by Chitkara University, Punjab, India. He has been awarded for extra mural funding in 2021 by Chitkara University, Punjab. His area of interest includes application development using node.js, python, IoT, C, C++ and computer Networks.
