The present disclosure relates to a system for detecting a face mask of a user. The5 system includes one or more image sensing devices, one or more proximitysensing devices, and a processing unit, having one or more processors, operativelyconfigured with the one or more image sensing devices and the one or moreproximity sensing devices. The processing unit being configured to execute a setof instructions stored in a memory, which, on execution, caused the system to10 receive, from the one or more proximity sensing devices, a set of first signalspertaining to a presence of the user. Capture, with the one or more imagecapturing devices, one or more images of the users face and correspondinglygenerate a set of second signals. Determine using one or more techniques, the facemask worn by the user based on the set of second signals.
