The present disclosure pertains to a system and device configured with cots for monitoring ofbabies in the cots. The system can operate at two modes- Parental mode and Non-Parentalmode. In the Non-Parental mode, if someone tries to take the baby out from the cot, thesystem generates an alarm. In the Parental mode, it does not generate any alarm even ifsomeone takes the baby out from the cot. The system includes a FSR sensor fordetecting weight on the cot, thereby, detecting presence of the baby on the cot. The systemalso includes a thermal sensor to facilitate thermal screening, and a moisture sensorto detect moisture associated with clothes of the baby
