The present disclosure provides a waste segregation apparatus. The apparatus includes: ahousing having an inlet to receive an article of garbage; a second set of sensors configuredwith the inlet such that the second set of sensors to sense a second set of attributes associatedwith type of the article of garbage; a plurality of chambers, wherein each of the plurality ofchambers is designated for receiving a distinct type of the article of garbage, and whereineach of the plurality of chambers having a lid to control access to the chamber, and whereinthe distinct type of the article of garbage comprises a biodegradable and non-biodegradable; arotatable plate configured with the inlet above the plurality of chambers; and a control unitoperatively coupled to the second set of sensors, wherein the control unit configured to:determine the type of the article of garbage based on the sensed second set of attributes; openlid of one of the plurality of chambers based on the determined type of the article of garbage;and rotate the rotatable plate such that the article of garbage is segregated into the chamberdesignated for the determined type of the article of garbage.
