The present disclosure relates to a device for detecting temperature of one or moreentities. The device includes a housing to be worn by a user, a temperaturesensing unit for sensing temperature of the one or more entities within a pre-defined distance of a user wearing the device, and correspondingly generates afirst set of signals. A memory associated with a processing unit, for storing10 instructions which when execution causes the processing unit to receive, from thetemperature sensing unit, the first set of signals, extracting, from the first set ofsignals, temperature and corresponding distance of the entities from the user.Generate a first set of alert signals, if the detected temperature of the nearbyentities is greater than a pre-defined first threshold value.
