A bridge monitoring device is disclosed.The device comprises a set of sensors configuredwith a bridge to sense one or more attributes associated with a load of vehicles moving on thebridge, a control unit operatively coupled with a transceiver and the set of sensors. Thecontrol unit to monitor real-time load of moving vehicles based on sensed one or moreattributes, and compare the monitored real-time load with a pre-defined or a configurablethreshold load. Moreover, based on comparison when the monitored impact load is more thanor equal to threshold impact load the control unit generates an alert signal.
