The present disclosure pertains to an assembly to facilitate supporting an entity on5 stretcher (202), where the assembly includes a retractable belt (102), a housing(104), an alert unit (106), and a set of sensors (108). The retractable belt (102)includes a first end and a second end, where the first end is removably coupled toat least one end of the stretcher and the second end includes a locking means(204), wherein the housing (104)is adapted to accommodate and receive the10 locking means (204). The retractable belt (102) includes a set of sensors (108)configured to sense health parameters of the entity and correspondingly generate afirst set of signals, where the first set of signals are received by the alert unit(106), and the alert unit (106) is configured to alert the entity for locking thesecond member or the locking means inside the housing (104) and enables15 supporting the entity on the stretcher (202).
