The present disclosure relates to an apparatus (100) for managing energyconsumption, the apparatus including: an air conditioning unit (102) adapted tosupply conditioned air in premises, an air flow conduit (110) adapted to receiveair from the premises, an air accumulator (108) adapted to pre-cool the receivedair, and one or more sensors (112) can be operatively coupled to the air flow10 conduit, the one or more sensors adapted to monitor temperature attributes of thepremises, wherein, based on the temperature attributes of the premises, the airconditioning unit is operated to receive the air from the premises through the airflow conduit to be pre-cooled by the air accumulator, the pre-cooled air from theair accumulator is processed to supply the conditioned air to facilitate energy15 management of the air conditioning unit.
