An alert system for vehicles is described. The system includes a first set of sensorsconfigured with the vehicle to sense one or more parameters pertaining to movement andposition of the vehicle; a second set of sensors configured with the vehicle to sense a real-time location of the vehicle; and a control unit operatively coupled to the first and the secondsets of sensors. The control unit compares a value associated with at least one of the sensedone or more parameters with one or more thresholds; and generates one or more alert signalsbased on the comparison, when the value associated with at least one of the one or moreparameters exceeds the respective threshold of the one or more thresholds based on thecomparison.
