Advance Programming Lab (Virtusa centre of excellence ) was set up in 2018 at Chitkara University, Punjab in collaboration with Virtusa. This centre of excellence provides enriching practical skills and imparting industry-relevant advanced programming courses to students and faculty in the field of Information Technology. It is used to train the students and faculty in advanced programming such as Full-Stack development by utilizing experience, thereby enhancing the faculty and students skills as per current industrial needs.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the Advanced Programming Lab is to impart Quality Control Training to the students and faculty as per current industrial needs. Quality Assurance (QA) plays an essential role in the Software Development Life Cycle. It improves the reliability and performance of the system by checking all the functions software is supposed to perform. Software Quality Assurance results into accurate, consistent and reliable results of the product. For a software company to stay in business, it is essential to ensure the quality of the software product to gain customers’ satisfaction and build trust.
ACTIVITIES
Training on Quality Assurance and Control will be carried out by experts from Virtusa | Polaris. At the end of the training programme, Virtusa | Polaris team will conduct assessment tests and award certificate to successful candidates.

- Four-week Faculty Training Program is organized in the month of May-June 2020
- Codelite is an overnight Hackathon being organized for students of 3rd Year 17 teams participate in the Hackathon in the month of Feb-2020.
- Codethon is an overnight Hackathon being organized for students of 3rd Year in the month of March-2019.

- Image detection and processing is a research area in which researchers can start work under the Advance Programming lab.
