The University has developed its Media Centre at Picasso Block for Chitkara School of Mass Communications as primary facility and support is provided to entire university. Media Laboratory dedicated exclusively for applied research into the dynamics of communication and the creative industries together with professional expertise. The Chitkara School of Mass Communication has built close links with national and regional media companies and boasts of an excellent employment and research record. The community radio of Chitkara University can be heard on 107.8 MHz FM and is completely managed. We have own independent recording and broadcasting facilities which provide a very good learning platform who actually run the radio station.
The University has developed its MOOC studio centre at Picasso Block for Chitkara School of Mass Communications as primary facility and support is provided to entire university for the development of the MOOC. Besides that, another small studio dedicated exclusively for recording of lecture videos under this initiative has also been developed. The Chitkara School of Mass communication has dedicated manpower to provide support from video recording of courses being developed by the teachers till final submission with MOOC Development Centre. The university has identified a group of teachers & administrative staff to execute the proper development & delivery of the MOOC courses through various portals of the Government of India. Dr Harmeet Kaur (Dean, Chitkara College of Nursing) has already obtained a formal approval from DTH Swayam Prabha Channel to record her video lectures for a course titled “Nursing Research and Statistics”. Besides that, another 2 proposals for courses titled “Applications of New Media” and “Radio Production” are also under active consideration with AICTE for their SWAYAM portal of courses.
