Dr. Chingakham Chinglenthoiba (John) is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Centre for Research Impact and Outcome (CRIO), Chitkara University, Punjab. He is a highly motivated and accomplished researcher with a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Calicut, obtained in 2020. During his postdoctoral fellowship at the National University of Singapore (2021-2023), he delved deeper into microplastic-related research, particularly focusing on the risks and solutions associated with marine plastics in Southeast Asia.
Under the NRF grant, He collaborated with various scientists from Singapore, Thailand, China Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Brunei, and the Philippines on projects aimed at understanding and mitigating the impacts of microplastics in marine ecosystems. With a focus on microplastics and nanoplastics mitigation. His research aims to address pressing environmental challenges through innovative solutions. He has extensive experience in developing novel materials such as functionalized cellulose, electrospun membranes, and Metal Organic Frameworks, as well as techniques for microplastic removal from various environmental matrices, such as water and food.
