Dr Rajnish Sharma is Dean (Research) at CURIN department of Chitkara University. He earned his PhD while working in India’s top research laboratory, National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and served in Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani as a Faculty for 6 years. He has more than 50 research papers to his credit in International journals and conferences of repute. Besides this, he has got published one book titled “Solid State Electronic Devices” from Oxford University Press to his credit. He has successfully completed a project sponsored by the Government of India on deposition and characterization of Diamond Like Carbon Films for futuristic applications related to microelectronic devices. He has been on the reviewer’s panel list for many journals of international repute like Applied Physical Letters, Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology, Carbon, Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids Current Applied Physics and many other journals from publishers like IEEE, IET and Springer. He has travelled various places in the world like Copenhagen, SanFrancisco, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Shanghai, Dubai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Fontainebleau and Taiwan as a part of various Research or Academic alliances for his university. In summer of 2016, he was at Purdue University for a duration of 3 months at a Visiting Scholar position and worked in the research area of Electroporation based techniques for treatment of cancer. Currently, he is actively involved in promoting research culture in Chitkara University and also guides many research students towards their ME and PhD programs in the area of next-generation electronic devices and design of neural amplifiers as well as Low Noise Amplifiers. He has been associated with many of the technical conferences being organized in Chitkara University like WECON (2016 &2018), ICAN (2017& 2019), ACM COMPUTE 2018 and IUCEE ICTIEE 2019. His areas of interest are RF Microelectronics, next generation mobile telephony and contemporary electronics technologies. Before taking up his current role, he served as Dean (Academics) at Chitkara University, Himachal campus where he played a pivotal role in setting up the whole academic system. He is a senior member of IEEE.

He remains associated very deeply with IEEE Delhi section in his capacity as an Executive committee member and also as a member of Standing committee for Technical and Professional Committee (Conferences). Besides that, he also volunteers for ACM India initiatives by managing their social media handles.

He is a technology enthusiast and likes to keep himself updated with the latest technological trends. Dr Rajnish likes to read fiction and play his favorite sports, Billiards and Badminton in his leisure time.

  1. Conducted National Workshop on VLSI Design and Embedded Systems from 24th to 26th February 2006 along with another convener Dr.(Mrs.)Anu Gupta. The workshop was funded by Ministry of Science and Technology (Govt. Of India), University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education, Honeywell technologies Solutions Pvt. Limited and IEEE (ED/ MTTT) India Chapter. The workshop was attended by total 40 participants out of which 31 were from different academic institutes and 09 were from industries.
  2. Conducted National Workshop on Analog and RF Design from 16th to 18th March 2007 along with another convener Dr.(Mrs.) Anu Gupta. The workshop was sponsored by Genesis Microchip (India) Pvt. Ltd. and IEEE (ED/MTTT) India Chapter. A total of 19 participants attended this workshop out of which 18 were from industries like Analog Devices, Wipro VLSI and Genesis Microchip etc. Resource persons were also called from industries and academic institutions of repute like IIT, Chennai, ST Microelectronics and Texas Instruments.
